There are ten companies which have operations in the electricity generation sector, quoted in the stock market. These companies’ financial statements and annual reports are publicly available on their websites so that investors could make an analysis. In this paper, I analyzed the basic
financial statements and the notes with MS Excel such as the statement of financial position, income, cash flow and change in equity as of 2018, 2019 and 2020, respectively. While I was making the analysis, I used three methods that are very common in financial statement analysis in the literature. The methods are financial ratio analysis, the horizontal financial statement analysis, the vertical financial statement analysis and I put some additional financial metrics of the mentioned companies above. I did not share all the master data that is subject to these analyses in this paper. The analyses in this paper are not investment advice and do not comprehensively reflect the electricity generation sector’s financial situation. The 50% of the companies are in a negative position in net working capital. The 60% of the companies increased their cash and cash
equivalents as of 2020.
